Herbalism, Aromatherapy, Flower Essences, Energy Work
Rebecca Jones is a certified Herbalist in the Plant Spirit Medicine and Wise Woman traditions, with a solid grounding in Traditional Western European, Native American and Chinese herbs. She has a good understanding of the body systems as described in the Western European model, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. She has studied with Wendy Snow-Fogg, Rosemary Gladstar, Margi Flint, Anne McIntyre, Kathleen Meier, Nancy Phillips, Cascade Anderson-Gellar, Mindy Green, Kate Gilday, Matt Wood and many others.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils for healing. An essential oil is the portion of a plant that is captured through steam distillation. Here in the United States, aromatherapy is given in the form of inhalation, diffusion, and through the use of massage or anointing oils. The essential oils should always be diluted, and only taken internally when directed to do so by a qualified health care professional. Rebecca has completed two certification courses approved by the National Association of Holisitc Aromatherapy, through Linn Stilwell at Briarwood Farms.
Flower Essences
A flower essence is the energy of a flower captured in water and used for healing of the spirit. The most recognized are from Bach Flowers and the Flower Essence Society, but there are many, many other "brands" available. All essences used at Sage Living have been handmade by Rebecca or by her teacher, Christine Tolf of Lichenwood Herbals. Any essences made by Rebecca are available in stock bottles; Lichenwood Essences are available only in doseage bottles as a part of a custom blend.
Energy Work
There are as many forms of energy work as there are people practicing it. Rebecca has trained in Usui Reiki, as well as crystal healing and shamanic journeying. She studied for two years with Medicine Woman Laughing Owl, learning Star Medicine and labyrinth work, and for two years with Suzan Lang, learning some of the basics of Ecuadorian and Peruvian shamanism. These teachings are central to Rebecca's practice, and she is proud to carry them in her heart.
